Peter gets it right, but then he immediately gets it very wrong. Ours is not a Messiah who simply swoops down and rescues us. Instead, we get a Savior who comes among us, calling us to grow up in God’s grace: to take up our cross and follow him in the ways of world-altering love, radical peace, and self-offering faith.
