Just as God called the Israelites to be a priesthood for all the world while they were still in the wilderness with nothing, Jesus sends his first followers -- and us -- to be bearers of the Gospel and Christ’s healing power without anything but the love we bear for God and our love the world -- God’s world -- in deep need of healing.
