The True Path

The First Sunday in Lent

Jesus' temptation in the wilderness introduces us to the fundamental way in which we are all tempted to grasp for the essentials of life: food and shelter, power and control, and having the respect and love of others. God knows we need these things, but the desires for them turn diabolical when we lose sight of something even more essential: that we are always God's beloved.
