Family Dynamics

The Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany

When Jesus returns to Nazareth, his hometown greets him with a familiar, ambivalent response with which we can so easily greet our favorite sons and daughters. Family and parochial dynamics are often dangerous to our spiritual health because they lock out God's grace and lock us in to identities that we can't grow out of.
